Manchester United supporters were in for a huge treat on Wednesday when it was announced that their exciting youngster full-back Diogo Dalot has signed a long-term contract. He has put pen to paper on a contract which will see him remain at the club until 30 June 2028 with an option for a further year. With speculation surrounding his future dominating the headlines over the past weeks and months, this latest development will come as a welcome respite for the club’s faithful.
Diogo Dalot, who made 107 appearances for Manchester United, has become a vital part of Erik ten Haag’s setup this season. Dalot’s ability to circulate the ball effectively from the back has made him a regular under the Dutchman. With 11 full international caps for Portugal, the 24-year-old full-back is already a proven player at the highest level. With so much more to come from him in the years to come, Dalot can only get better.
After signing the new contract, Dalot expressed his satisfaction at extending his stay at Old Trafford. “Playing for Manchester United is one of the greatest honors you can have in football,” he was quoted as saying by his club’s website. “We have shared some wonderful moments over the last five years, and I have grown so much and my passion for this incredible club has only grown since the day I joined.”

I can assure you that I look forward to helping this group to achieve its objective and the fans to support this team I will continue to dedicate myself to do something to be proud of. The drive continues this week and everyone is focused on preparing for the FA Cup final.”

“Diogo’s work ethic and professionalism are outstanding; The way he prepares himself every day to perform at his highest level is exactly what we all want from a Manchester United player. Diogo has a strong mindset, high standards and a great personality, and we are delighted that he will continue to be an important member of the team for years to come.
