There will be matches in a total of eight stadiums in the World Cup to be held in Qatar. All the stadiums are newly built and will be used at the world level for the first time as this is the first time the country will be hosting an important international competition. The knockout round matches will be played across all World Cup venues for the first time. Let’s take a look at Al Bayt Stadium.
Al Bait Stadium
Al Bayt Stadium is a stadium with a retractable roof to provide covered seating for all spectators. It has a capacity of around 60,000 making it the largest in the country. It has received a lot of praise and appreciation for its durable design and construction. The stadium is slated to be inaugurated in late November, 2021 and host the final of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
Fixtures will be held at Al Bayt Stadium
According to the 2022 FIFA World Cup fixture list, Al Bayt Stadium will host nine matches throughout the tournament. Most importantly, it will host the opening match of the campaign between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. It will be a very proud moment for the stadium and the people associated with it. Apart from the opener, the quarter-finals and semi-finals as well as a round of 16 game will also be played at the Al Bayt Stadium.
