World Cup Best Young Player

This FIFA World Cup award goes to the best player of the tournament under the age of 21. Age is calculated at the beginning of the calendar year, so players born after 2001 will be eligible in 2022.
The Best Young Player award was officially presented for the first time at the 2006 World Cup. The table below shows the winners of the 1958 tournament, taken from the polls FIFA conducted to select the “Best Young Player” of the 1958-2002 World Cup.
